Begginer Snowboarders
Four of us shared a one off lesson with Charlie. He made the whole experience fun and by the end of the lesson I didn't ever want to put my skis on again. Charlie is really patient and supportive. His teaching is clear, actionable and brings you on really quickly. A couple more lessons and I think we would have been ready to take on the mountain.

Me, my brother and cousins have been to Tignes 4 times and have had lessons with Charlie every time and we have all thoroughly enjoyed them, while also improving our skiing drastically, due to his helpful advice on technique etc.
He’s taken us off piste every time, the first 3 years were through another company but this year, with conker snow sports, the lessons were just as great and the off piste equipment he provided us with was much higher quality and was in far better condition than the equipment of the other company.
The off piste he’s taken us on has always been safe and the snow conditions have been great. Even this year with little snowfall, we were skiing in powder.
I’m sure we will go to Tignes again in the future and have lessons off Charlie again through conker snow sports.

I couldn't recommend Charlie and Conker Snowsports enough

The first time my family and I started skiing in Tignes in 2017 we had Charlie as our ski instructor and have done every single time we've returned since. His ability to tailor the lessons to your standard, whilst making them progressive, creative and major fun is why he's the best ski instructor we've ever had.
Ever since the first lessons, he's taken us off piste to search for the best powder in the area, as this is something that we have specifically requested. And never has he failed to find the best snow possible using his extensive knowledge of the Tignes/Val d'Isere area, even this year with the poor snow conditions. In order to find and ski this powder in the best way as well, Charlie has taught and hugely improved our mountaineering, ski touring and general ski technique.
Overall, Charlie has taken us to places, taught us ski/mountain knowledge and skills and produced skiing that I don't think many other instructors could.

Charlie is an amazing BASI instructor

Charlie is an amazing instructor who I met quite by chance in Tignes 2 weeks ago. I have skied off piste with a few instructors now over the years and I rate Charlie highly.
He listens, he teaches well, is patient, pitches the lesson at the right level combining lesson with practice and knows Tignes/Val area very well.
All these attributes make a fantastic instructor.
Cannot recommend him enough. Book him now whilst you can because when word gets out......

Learnt lots and great fun too
I found the whole experience excellent, the booking service was easy, quick, efficient and friendly and the lessons themselves were awesome.
Charlie is a great instructor, just the right amount of technical and fun (we have had a lot of private lessons and these were some of the best).
We were really challenged which over the six hours has made a real difference in our ability. I will take home some great memories of one ski skiing (not sure I have laughed so much in a long time) off piste and bumps which I am sure to remember for years to come, he really made the holiday.

Outstanding tuition
Lucky enough to book a private lesson with Charlie.
His calm understanding approach to beginners is fantastic. He builds confidence through encouragement and persistence. My ability has moved forward dramatically thanks to Charlie. If you're in Tignes and looking for a Ski School you really need to give these guys a call. Thanks Charlie.

Thanks to Charlie... I have my Snowboarding confidence back!
Having taken a number of falls resulting in a loss of confidence, I booked a 3 hour private lesson with Charlie as a basic / intermediate snowboarder... I got into some bad habits over the years and he showed me how to remedy them and as such I have my confidence back and have suffered far fewer falls! Highly recommended!

Heli boarding
Wow!!!!! I could not recommend heli (ski) boarding enough. Charlie the guide was an awesome ski guide, safe, helpful and pretty quick on his skis, the walk out once at the bottom was not the easiest but with Charlie carrying my board I enjoyed the walk, it made my holiday and was a tick off my bucket list. Even better it was topped off with an authentic dinner at an Italian piste restaurant!

Transform your "can't'' to "can"
When I first skied with Charlie, I had fairly clear instructions
- no steeps
- no bumps
- no off-piste
I felt my skiing progression had plateaued over the past 3-4 years - it all felt a little more effort and a little less elegant than I thought it should. All I wanted was to be able to ski comfortably around the mountain avoiding anything too challenging and if I could look relatively "together" doing it - bonus!
I didn't want steep or bumpy and was frustrated (scared) by the need to get outside your "comfort zone" philosophy. The brilliant thing about them is that you never feel outside you're comfort zone because they've given you the skills and the self-belief to ski those steeps (OK Juhu 2 : Face 1); those bumps and the off-piste (sorry mum!). I haven't skied outside my comfort zone; my comfort zone has just got bigger!
Not only is Charlie an exceptional ski coach but a genuinely great guy who is fantastic company, always punctual and for whom nothing was ever too much effort. His knowledge of the best cake on the mountain is legendary.
In short, if you want to improve your skiing whilst having fun book with him. I'm scared to say what I don't want to do next for fear it involves helicopters.
Thanks so much - you guys are the best! (Though I'm still not sure about this year's colour scheme.....)

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Charlie who helped me get over my demon of getting back on skis again after an injury. He was great fun and although I'm sure it was hard work for him . He did get me down a little blue run again.

Well worth it!
Had a really good private lesson (2 of us) with Charlie in some less than ideal weather! Was a perfect mixture of technique and fun, kept us going when the snow came down - and found us a great hot choc stop! Would definitely recommend!

Have taken one to one lessons for the last three years both in Tignes and the three valleys. Once again this trip we were very pleased with our two days instruction. This season hadnt been the best as we were both injured by other out of control skiers and were feeling a bit unconfident and tense on the slopes. Charlie sorted us out and I ended up skiing the best I have ever skied so were were delighted. They are a great company to deal with and the four instructors weve had over the last four years are professional and accomplished instructors. Charlie was superb and I cant recomend them enough, you wont regret using them guaranteed !!!

brilliant week thanks to Charlie

We booked two private family lessons as complete beginners, 2 snowboarders & 2 skiers, having never done it before we didn't realise the challenge we had set Charlie to teach us both skiing and snowboarding but he rose to it brilliantly. Charlie our instructor coped superbly and by the end of the week we were exploring all over Espace Killy's green and blue runs and even ventured down a couple of reds! Charlie set us up for a brilliant holiday which will be the first of many. Would also say the office staff were very helpful and advised on ski passes etc prior to our holiday which was really helpful to us as complete novices.

Great lesson with Charlie
I don't normally write reviews on trip adviser but wanted to just say what great lessons we had with Charlie- they were individualised and tailored to our needs, really constructive and motivating. And he's a really nice friendly guy.

Fantastic lesson with Charlie

I am a competent intermediate skier. I was recovering from an injury, had lost all of my confidence and with it my technique and I had a private lesson with Charlie. He quietly assessed my issues and we worked on the basics on the nursery slope. His manner was calm, confident, informative, pleasant and supportive. After a few runs I was confident enough to go up the mountain and in bad conditions he gave me confidence and the calmness to ski down.
I am very grateful as without the lesson I would have struggled to get back into the saddle.
I will book with you again when we return to Tignes in February

Excellent teaching
I booked a 3 hour private lesson with Charlie as an intermediate skier, and came on leaps and bounds thanks to his excellent teaching. Highly recommended.

A breakthrough!
I've just returned from a week's skiing in Tignes - my fourth since I took up the sport and by far the best! The reason for this was entirely due to the superb tuition I received from Charlie. He was patient, encouraging yet challenged me to overcome my fears.
After two 1:1 sessions, I was able to go out and ski and be in control even down pistes that earlier in the week would have been completely daunting for me. Thanks, Charlie!

Brilliant and fun ski instructor

We’ve just come home from a great week in Tignes. We were lucky enough to have Charlie teaching our children to ski for five mornings of the holiday. The children had a brilliant time and loved their lessons with him. He went the extra mile to keep them happy, entertained and of course learning new skills. He made videos each day which we loved watching and so did the children.
Each child had a personalised certificate on the last day and were thrilled to have been lucky enough to have Charlie teaching them! We can’t recommend him highly enough!

We were recommended Charlie by our holiday broker, I was a little dubious as have always used French tuition for my children. Well I was wrong, Charlie was an absolute diamond of a find, he had 6 children who all know each other very well (a bit too well) so act like siblings so were no doubt a challenging group! The children absolutely adored and respected him in equal measures, they came back on a wonderful high every afternoon after having spent the morning with him. Their skiing has improved immeasurably throughout the week.
Charlie went above and beyond to ensure all the children were happy, yet gently pushed to achieve. He kindly did us some wonderful videos so that we were able to sit and watch the childrens progress in the evenings, a lovely little touch. They all came away with a personal certificate and total confidence and enthusiasm to get back on the slopes.

Carol and I would like to pass on our thanks to Charlie for being such a fab instructor yesterday. He broke everything down into bite sized chunks which we could understand and visualise. Our afternoons skiing and confidence were much improved.
He also happens to be a lovely fella and coped very well with us Northerners!

My wife and I booked 5 morning lessons with TDC in December.
We had 2 lessons with Charlie.
For the past 5 years we have always booked a week of private ski lessons for half a day. We used ski schools from France, Italy, Switzerland. I can say that these have been the best lessons I have had.
Charlie provided high quality lessons .

Had a great lesson, even in not so great conditions with Charlie. We had thought about cancelling as the weather was not great but Charlie took us on some more sheltered slope and we did some technique work that really helped our skiing. Would definitely recommend. Good fun and very useful!
